David Gray, Songwriter extraordinaire, veröffentlicht im September ein neues Studioalbum – das erste seit 2002. Der Nachfolger zu „A New Day At Midnight“ wird „Life In Slow Motion“ heißen und am 13. September erscheinen, berichtet die Onlineausgabe des deutschen Rolling Stone. Bereits Ende dieses Monats kommt die erste Single raus, sie hört auf den Namen „The One I Love“.

Seit heute gibts auf der offiziellen Spin Doctors-Seite konkrete und ausführliche Informationen zum für September erwarteten neuen Album. „Nice Talking To Me“ kommt als CD/DVD Dualdisc, die DVD wird Schnappschüsse und Aufnahmen von der Europa-Tour der Band im März enthalten. In der neuen Band-Biographie, die sich angenehm von üblichen Plattenfirmen-„Waschzetteln“ abhebt, sprechen die Doctors darüber, wie es nach der Reunion zu neuen Songs und schließlich zu den Sessions für NTTM kam. Und ein paar Einschätzungen darüber, wie die Zukunft der Gruppe aussehen könnte, findet der geneigte Leser ebenfalls:

In diesem Sommer erleben die US-amerikanischen Konzertgänger John Mayer auf ganz neue Art und Weise. Der inzwischen mehrfach durch Grammys preisgekrönte Singer / Songwriter hat ein „Trio“ gegründet, mit dem er den ganzen Sommer über die USA unsicher macht und sogar hier und da für die ollen Rolling Stones den Anheizer gibt. This new venture marks the next phase in the remarkable evolution of a gifted, adventurous and prolific young artist who, in just the last few months, has performed and/or recorded with Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, John Scofield and Herbie Hancock,among others.
Joining Mayer in this new undertaking are drummer Steve Jordan (Bruce Springsteen, Rolling Stones) and bassist Pino Palladino (the Who, Jeff Beck), a pair of in-demand veterans who are readily acknowledged by their peers as the very best at their respective instruments. So it became a band.?The trio, who subsequently appeared at the 2005 Grammys, performing a captivating rendition of Mayer?s ?Daughters, which later that evening won the awards for Song of the Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, will unveil their electrified sound on a fall tour of North America , including three dates with the Rolling Stones (dates below).
